More news from BEEM...

Dr. Raj Vadera Dr. Andrew Worster Dr. Andrew Worster and Dr. Raj Vadera appear in this month's issue of the Journal of Emergency Medicine to bring emergency physicians a review of the evidence for clopidogrel (Plavix) as a therapeutic option in patients who present with an acute myocardial infarction.

Dr. Christopher Carpenter Dr. John Crossley In Emergency Physicians Monthly Dr. John Crossley and Dr. Christopher Carpenter cover the ABCD2 scoring system for evaluating short-term risk of stroke for patients with TIA. Your feedback on this article on the website is appreciated.

Congratulations to our own Dr. Chris Carpenter on being selected as the Goldfarb Patient Safety Fellow at Washington University (St. Louis) for July 2008-2010. This is a great achievement and really quite amazing given that it's extremely rare for emergency physicians to receive career awards. As part of BEEM research, Chris is participating in several knowledge translation projects focusing on how to modify physician behavior to follow best-practices. Chris intends to improve the emergency care of aging adults through education and best-evidence processes. We’re very proud of Chris and greatly appreciate his leadership in BEEM.
